Welcome to the Faith Dennill Trust Fund

We’d like to begin by offering our heartfelt thanks to all of you, our family and friends who have loved, prayed, and supported us this far. Often the donations we receive don’t reflect the donor’s name, so this is our opportunity to tell you what you mean to us, and that your generosity has made more of a difference than we can explain.

So to introductions: if we haven’t met, we are Kate and Bruce Dennill, and we have two daughters, Bethany, aged 19 and Faith, aged 17. Our journey with Faith has been unexpected in almost every way. After a very complicated pregnancy, our tiny, 2kg baby soon began missing milestones, and we were referred a professor of genetics and a paediatric neurologist, among others, at which stage Faith was subjected to various investigations including MRI scans and the harvesting of blood samples that went to the States for a gene array. There were no conclusive results or diagnosis, so we decided that what resources we had were better directed at providing the best assistance for every challenge Faith was facing and would face. Too soon, it became evident that the challenges outstripped our resources.

Faith is severely deaf and wears hearing aids that need to be serviced regularly and replaced every three to five years. These and other big expenses need constant addressing, which is where the Faith Dennill Trust comes in. The money raised is used to continue providing the care to help Faith achieve her best potential. The impact of the funds raised over the years has been immense such that we have been able to consistently provide the best schooling and therapies for Faith. As her needs have changed over the years, we have been able to adjust and upgrade everything from schooling options to hardware such as hearing aids, spectacles and orthotics. Faith is achieving excellent academic results for her levels and is able to communicate and interact easily and enjoyably with everyone she meets.

Those of you who have met Faith will know that she is blessed with a wonderful personality, full of fun and the most inspiring ability to persevere.

The Trust sponsored the bulk of Faith’s 2025 remedial tuition, enabling her to continue learning and growing in the best possible environment where she also has access to physiotherapy, speech, and occupational therapy.

We hope to be able to cover those same costs for 2026 and beyond, with Faith having been told she will be welcome at her school, LUCCA Support And Care Centre (luccaspecialkids.co.za) until she is 21 years old where she continues to prepare, academically and vocationally, for adult life and potential employment.

Any donation towards to costs of Faith’s education and therapies is welcome, but if it would help you to structure your giving in a more formal way, perhaps you could consider sponsoring part of the expenses involved:

  • One month’s school fees: R13 321.50
  • Three months’ school fees: R39 964.50
  • Six months’ school fees: R79 929.00
  • One year’s school fees: R159 858.00
  • One month’s therapy fees: R2 720.00
  • Three months’ therapy fees: R8 160.00
  • Six months’ therapy fees: R16 320.00
  • One year’s therapy fees: R32 640.00

We feel extremely grateful as we watch Faith develop and grow. The journey is still often unexpected, but despite further challenges, she continues to inspire all who know her with her courage and perseverance.

Our friends Dave, Fiona, Tim, Jonathan and Rebecca Reynders have ridden the 94.7 Cycle Challenge since 2016 on Faith’s behalf. This year, Dave is riding solo, on a single speed bike and wearing board shorts and a Hawaiian shirt! This ties in with Faith’s chosen theme “Lilo & Stitch” – please cheer as you see Dave ride past and consider sponsoring him to whatever level you’re able.

See the bottom of this page for the Faith Dennill Trust Fund banking details to make an EFT (including the SWIFT code for international transfers). We’d love to thank you personally, so if you’re comfortable, please include your name and surname as a reference. No pressure, though…

On the day of the Cycle Challenge (28 October 2025), look out for the #faithdennilltrust hashtag and, if you have any questions, connect with Bruce on social media : Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram
